Caretaker in Sacramento Found Guilty in Elder Sexual Abuse Case

In another startling story, James Harold Garner of Sacramento was convicted of elder sexual abuse. Garner was only 28 when he repeatedly assaulted the disabled elderly person that he was responsible for taking care of.

The 65 year old elder victim had survived a stroke and suffered from a lack of mobility, weakness, and difficulty speaking in addition to COPD.

Luckily this case was reported, and in early December a Sacramento County Superior Court jury found him guilty on 1 count of elder abuse, 3 counts of rape by force, and 2 counts of forced oral copulation.

Garner may be sentenced up to 45 years in prison for all of the convicted felonies.
