Wrongful Death: Nursing Home Facility

Wrongful Death: Nursing Home Facility

A wrongful death lawsuit was filed recently against a large corporate nursing home, long term care facility for abuse and neglect attributable to sepsis,  and e coli infected, fourth degree pressure ulcers, also known as bed sores, which it is alleged caused the wrongful death of the elder.

The suit, which was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleges that the long term care facility severely neglected a 79 year old Alzheimer’s patient and failed to turn the patient on a regular basis, causing the fourth degree bed sores to become severely infected. Additionally, the nursing home is purported to have failed to provide  adequate medical care, which caused the e coli infection to enter this patient’s bloodstream forcing the elder to become septic and to go into septic shock, resulting in the wrongful death of the patient.

Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect lawyer Steven Peck of the Peck Law Group says ” this is the type of neglect that should never happen to any elder and dependent adult in a long term care facility if they are truly watching their patients.”  “The facility has violated the most basic of their own polices and procedures and the patients rights per California Heath and Safety Code 1430(b) who are totally dependent on the facility for their care.”
