Pressure ulcers, which are sometimes known as bedsores, are caused when an area of skin is put under pressure and can cause blood poisoning (sepsis) and gangrene.

It is extremely important to keep your skin clean, look out for redness and open blisters on the skin, especially over bony areas, and seek immediate medical help quickly if anything occurs.

Elderly patients that have enough information about how to self help and care for Pressure Ulcers / Bedsores, may be able to come up with their own routines and strategies to help keep them from incurring Pressure Ulcers / Bedsores, which can be painful, easily infected, and in the worst case scenario will cause major complications including death.

As with all Pressure Ulcer / Bedsore prevention you can’t ignore them, treatment and rotation have to be constant, if not, lots of trouble.
