Elder Abuse Incident in Los Angeles

Elder Abuse Incident in Los Angeles

In a recent bout of elder abuse, during an unprovoked attacked Laquisha Jones came up to an unarmed 92 year old man and hit him over the head with brick, yelling at the man to go back to his country.

This wasn’t the first time that Laquisha was charged in a bout of violence. In the past she was charged with attempted murder of an elderly person.

This case, however, drew much more attention in the news. The man that was attacked, Rodolfo Rodriquez, reported to CNN that during his walk without warning the woman started beating him with a brick. Laquisha told a group of passing men that Rodolfo was trying to steal her child, so the group began kicking Rodolfo on the ground.

The attacked left Rodolfo bruised and bloodied, with broken bones and other serious injuries.

In April, Laquisha was sentenced to 15 years in prison for this attack.

In a beautiful show of faith, understanding and love, Rodolfo told reporters that he would have been alright if Ms. Jones got a lesser sentence as “Everyone makes mistakes” and that “We have to forgive each other because God forgives us”.
