There are many ways to report elder abuse in Sacramento if you happen to witness the atrocious act, or are a victim yourself.

You may report the elder abuse to:

  1. The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) – If the abuse happened in a nursing home, the CDSS may be one of the best places to contact. The CDSS will provide your report to the Ombudsman program for investigation of the abuse.
  2. Adult Protective Services (APS) – Adult protective services investigates elderly abuse that occurs at home, in hospitals, day-care facilities, and anywhere else outside of a nursing home. APS provides help to abuse & neglect victims in the entire state of California.
  3. Sacramento Law Enforcement – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has a special unit to investigate elderly abuse called the SEAB (Sexual Assault And Elder Abuse Bureau), specifically for the abuse of people that are older than 65.
