Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy and 2 Others Injured in Car Accident

A sheriff’s deputy from Los Angeles County sheriff department and two others were seriously injured in a car accident at about 12:15 AM on September 27, 2016.

The sheriff had arrested a suspect and was driving with them in his patrol car when another vehicle going the opposite direction crossed over a median, causing a head-on collision. The accident occurred at the 6100 block of North Paramount Boulevard.

Both the sheriff and the suspect had to be rescued by the Fire Department using a hydraulic rescue device and were then taken to the hospital in serious condition according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s facebook page.

The Long Beach Police Department is currently handling this investigation.
