Wrongful Death Verdict of $15 Million Received In Bakersfield, California Trucking Accident

A jury awarded the family of Tiffany Paregien $15 million after Paregien and her mother were killed in a hit-and-run accident by a big rig hauling two trailers of produce at Panama Road and Union Avenue.

The accident occurred just two days after Christmas in 2010. The women were walking with the right-of-way in a crosswalk.

Tiffany Paregien died after being taken to Kern Medical Center. She was 28-years-old and the mother of two young children.

The jury found Antonio Oliva responsible for killing Paregien while in the course and scope of his work for Emiliano Perez and E&M Trucking. The truck Oliva was driving when Paregien and her mother were killed was owned by Perez and E&M Trucking.
